Matt’s path to Excel Empire was built through leadership, coaching, and real operating experience.
Matt’s path into Excel Empire did not begin inside a traditional tax firm. It began through years of building, coaching, and helping leaders carry real responsibility. Earlier in his career, he worked in recreation and camp leadership, where service, growth, and stewardship were already central themes. From there, he moved deeper into business coaching and entrepreneurship, helping owners improve performance, clarify direction, and build stronger organizations.
Over time, Matt saw the same pattern repeat itself: successful people often had accountants, advisors, and hard-working professionals around them, but very few had a truly coordinated strategy. Important tax, entity, compensation, succession, and long-term planning decisions were too often handled in pieces. That gap became impossible to ignore.
After helping scale a business past $100 million, Matt had firsthand experience with what it looks like when growth creates complexity faster than most advisory relationships can keep up. Excel Empire was built to give business owners and high-income professionals access to a more intentional, integrated approach — one built to help them protect what they are building, create better decisions earlier, and move toward the outcomes they actually want.
